The Good Samaritan

We are beyond blessed. We are rich when compared to most of the world. Did you know approximately 24,000 children die every single day due to malnutrition or no access to healthcare. I don’t know if you are a parent or not, but imagine for a moment watching your child starve to death. Take a minute and really place yourself in the position…. you got it? Are you there yet? Do you realize this isn’t some sort of crazy thing to be imagining, it’s an actual reality in the world we live. Man, I don’t know how to change it, but to start, I think being aware is important. Not just “knowing” this fact, but deliberately placing this inconvenient truth in the forefront of your daily living. Children die every single day while we grow obese and ignorant to the suffering in the world. What can we do? Pray… seek the heart of God and ask Him to give you eyes to see the world as He sees it. The closer you get to God, the more your desires will align with His. He died for us all, not just those of us privileged enough to made aware of His goodness. I am not saying you have to do anything at all. I am saying that in perfect relationship with Christ, you would be giving your life for the sake of his kingdom and would be intentionally stepping out of your comfort in order to serve those less privileged in this world. I’m still struggling with this myself, because to be totally transparent with you, I am selfish, greedy, comfort seeking and worldly.

Pray: Father, we know there is only one way to your throne of absolute Holiness, and that is by the blood of Christ washing us clean, we thank you for Jesus Father, we thank you for opportunity to know you and to be in your presence, we thank you for loving us. Oh Father, please soften our hearts, give us eyes to see the world as you see it so that we may glorify you in our actions and behavior in this precious time you have given us, let us not become self seeking or comfort focused, but in all things teach us to seek your will. Father, give us hearts for the poor, give us courage to let go of our worldly possessions as we seek your will in everything. Please transform our very being so that more can come to the knowledge of Jesus and be transformed by His love. Thank you Father, we are all yours. We give you our bodies, we lay them at your throne and we say: here, please Father, take this life and make it all for you. We pray everything to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
